June 2021

It's June! We're almost halfway through the year! Happy Birthday to all the June Babies and Happy Pride to our LGBTQIA+ fam. This month's colorway is 79th street KCP (Knitty City Pearl).
Pearl Chin was the founder of Knitty City, she was well known by the New York City yarn community for being kind, helpful, patient, and just an all around special person. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in August of 2020 and passed away the same year in October. 79th street KCP was made as a tribute to her. The Colorway is a beautiful shade of orange and white, Knitty City's brand colors. You can see the lovely color on the calendar below.
Pearl Chin was what they called a craftivist. She contributed to the Women's March on Washington in 2017, hosted gatherings to knit prosthetic breasts for women who've had mastectomies, made welcome blankets for new immigrants, and so much more! To find out more about Pearl, please visit Knitty City. In honor of her, we're donating all KCP proceeds to Moms Demand Action, a cause that was important to Pearl.
